WOMEN CRAFTING CHANGE

CONCEPTUAL PROJECT
I collaborated with a group of designers at my previous college for a non-profit titled Women Crafting Change in Columbus, Ohio.

They began this organization to not only use sustainable practices by using scrapped fabrics and natural materials to create a product, but also, they employ the community to help them in creating these products. They bring together women of different immigrant and socioeconomic communities, mainly in low-income, to collectively work on art projects. Their program is focused on providing women with creative and practical job training through creating and producing products by hand. Because this was a small non-profit company, they had no idea how to brand themselves or make packaging design for their famous lotion chips that can be creative and visually appealing.

Their mission statement is:

CHANGE IN OURSELVES AND OUR COMMUNITIES ONE CRAFT AT A TIME...

We prototyped and made mockups of the packaging, creative direction on the product photography, and even created photography of each product. We worked on this for a total of fifteen weeks. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 they had to reevaluate their budgets for producing the new designed packaging.
